Mansoor Ameen

Mansoor has been advising students on overseas study since 1999. He opened this practice on Montieth Road in 2012, and he still takes the first consultation himself. Not as a courtesy. The shortlist is the decision everything else hangs off, and he would rather argue it out with you in the room than have it passed down through somebody else.

Students tend to mention his availability before they mention his advice. One wrote that he answers doubts “regardless of the time”, which is generous of him and hard on his evenings. Another came back to him years after a UK MBA to pick a course in Canada, which is the more telling compliment.

He handles the UK visa files personally, and he will tell you when a university is not worth what it charges.

Applications are rarely lost on grades. They are lost on a transcript in the wrong format, a referee who never replied, or a statement written the night before it was due. Nada works on the assumption that all three will happen unless somebody is watching.

That means the SOP gets a structured interview and real edits rather than a template, referees get chased early enough to be useful, and every document is checked against what that university actually asks for, which is never quite what the last one asked for.
